Dissecting a Wind-up Toy
Meet Dissect, a partner project in Introduction to Mechanical Design at Penn. At the start of this project, each group is given a wind-up toy that they have to take apart and then rebuild on SOLIDWORKS. My partner and I chose an orange T-Rex. Our toy's CAD version is fully functional-- all of the gears spin together when you turn the knob. To the left is an image of our final model. Below are two images of the gearbox and a video of the explosion of parts.
